Alaska 20026 7/25—8/5/26
This year's fishing trip with my Dad, Charlie, Colin and myself to Highliner Lodge in Pelican, AK went off without a hitch! We had tremendous weather for our five full days of fishing. Three of the days Mount Fairweather was VERY visible under bluebird skies. Swells were minimal at 3-6 feet and we only got brief spits of drizzle here and there during the week. Our first day of fishing was a bit slow for salmon (4 coho) but we caught 4 34inch halibut (max size allowed under slot) and several yelloweye to help out meat in the box. We managed to to turn things around the rest of the week and get a limit of on day three day and nearly had limits on the other three days. We did whiff pretty badly for big halibut on Thursday in zone 3A and black cod (sablefish) was slow for us as well. Overall we each came home with 150lbs of frozen fillets.
